First week of Shaun T's Insanity.

I made it through my very first week of Shaun T's Insanity program. WOW, was it tough but I LOVE the challenges that this program creates for my body. If you have completed a physical demanding exercise program like P90X and are looking for something to take your fitness to the next level than Insanity is your program! I must say that I had to mentally prepare myself for a workout like this before even starting and I continue to do it everyday even though after only a week I can tell that I am gaining endurance and strength.



The first day is the Insanity FIT TEST. You perform a warm up followed by 10-15 different exercises all while doing as many as you can (maxing out) for 1 minute each. I was very suprised because I was able to alot more than I expected. If you have a lot of trouble doing any of these moves for a short period of time you might re-consider whether or not you are physically ready to complete this intense 60-day program.

2nd day of Insanity was Plyometric Cardio Circuit and I found this to be a little scary buy I did what I could do and "forgot the rest." Thank Tony Horton. The warm up even intimidated me so getting to the actual workout I worried about whether I would be able to finish.

Day 3 was Cardio Power and Resistance and I actually enjoyed this workout a lot more than the first day. I really like doing push-ups (weird I know) and more of the strength traning moves than just plyo work.

Day 4 Shaun T gave us a BIT of a break but not much with Cardio Recovery which sort of reminded me of the tone that Tony Horton set in P90X. I enjoyed this workout.

Day 5 was Pure Cardio which the name just pretty much sums it up. The warm up had me sweating as much as I EVER have followed by an intense 15 move all at 1 minute long workout.

Day 6 was back to Plyo Cardio Circuit again and Day 7 a day of rest! LOVED THAT DAY and it was much appreciated.

What I like most about this program is the fact that the nutrition plan provided in the program is one of the easiest I have ever followed before, even better than p90X. You determine your calorie intake based on your activity levels then you are instructed to eat 5 different times a day and you get to pick from which meals you want to eat for which meal. The meals are really super easy and cost effective as well!

Insanity Next...I am Insane!

It is official! I am Insane!! This week I started a new Beachbody program called Insanity created by Hip Hops Abs fitness instructor Shaun T! Insanity is probably the hardest workout ever put on DVD but I am super excited to see the results I obtain after completing this program.

Unlike P90X or ChaLENE Extreme, Insanity is a 60-day program designed to get you into peak physical condition. I started Insanity on Tuesday, September 7th with the Fit Test in which you repeat every 2 weeks to track your progress. I have to tell you I have been a bit nervous about this workout program not only because of the name "Insanity" but because of the physical intensity that it will require of me. Since completing P90X, I have been looking for a bit more cardio intense program and I think I have found it. My goal at the end of this program is to lose 15 pounds if not more.

Completion of P90X


Gosh, things have been so super busy lately that I haven't had a bit of time to post the news about my completion of a program called P90X! I finished the first round of P90X in June 2009 and have to tell you how excited I am about the results that I had at the end. In just 90 days I was able to lose 5 pounds of fat and about 8 inches around my thighs, waist, and chest. Even though I didn't lose a lot of weight, I definitely lost the inches and my clothes fit a TON better than prior to the P90X program.

I want to thank Tony Horton for creating such an amazing program. During the 90 days, not once did I find myself not wanting to do the program or finding it boring so thanks so much! I have finally found a home fitness program that works and one that I can continue on for a very long time. I am not incorporating the P90X Plus workout DVD's which are even more amazing and fun and I just started a new program by Beachbody called Insanity! Before P90X I would never have pushed myself as hard as I have and I wouldn't have found such a great business being a Beachbody Coach. What a great supportive environment I have created for myself and for others.
